Social contracts:
They define people by other people in multiple ways. In this part of the book they are mostly focused on Jem and scout. They are siblings and at the scene we are at they’re in very deep trouble. Jem has to retrieve his pants back from Mr Nathan’s fence and come back safely in order to keep the social contract between him and his dad were as scout doesn’t want Jem to go because he might get shot. I found this part of the story very thrilling because I thought that Jem was going to die in this part of the book.. I was let down.
